My KL Adventure - Part 2

Well, here’s the long awaited continuation to my KL story (here it is Miss Pearlyn)…

The journey on the bus took around 6 hrs. It was bearable except for the fact that the guy sitting in front of us has a stinking BO! There’s no way I could get out of that one cos the bus was full and I can’t get to change seats. Anyway, at long last the bus stopped us at Puduraya where we hopped on to a cab to Corus Hotel.

KL has changed so much since I was last there. It is really thriving and is similar to Singapore and I felt much at home, immediately. We checked into Corus Hotel and my room had a huge verandah overlooking the city. There were even beach chairs and J was so envious of my room! It would be great for a party!! I was unpacking when J called to say that there was no wireless internet connection in his room. I checked mine and there wasn’t either. We found out that there wasn’t wireless connection in the lower rooms and asked for new rooms as we needed internet. We got new rooms but this time there wasn’t any verandah. Boohoo…

The trip was really great. Here is some stuff that I want to highlight:

a) 12 Jul – Had to go alone to “Korea Town” to collect the Hanbok (Korean costume) for the two Malaysian girls that we got as Event Assistants, to wear. I flagged for a cab and one with a lady passenger on the front seat, stopped. I was surprised when the male driver told me that he could get me to the place, especially since that was a lady passenger in the front seat. I thought that cabs here operated like those in Indonesia – where passengers going on the same route can share cabs. How wrong was I – the lady passenger I later found out was the driver’s wife! And she follows him when he’s driving around! How lame is that… And worst of all they both had BO and I had to bear with it throughout the 45-min journey!

b) Calista and Denise – the two Event Assistants we had, who not only looked great in the Hanbok, but also did a terrific job!

c) Shu Uemura make-up items which are more than 20% cheaper than Singapore! Needless to say, I stocked up on lots lipsticks, skincare, etc.

d) Boulevard Hotel in Mid Valley (we shifted to this hotel after the event) – the hotel had a great, gigantic bathroom! It had a huge “rain shower” with a shower stall and a huge bath tub for those long, relaxing bubble baths. Yum…

e) KLCC – huge mall with millions of shops much like Ngee Ann City, only bigger. The two food courts there served delicious international cuisine.

f) Mid Valley Megamall – reminds me of Tampines Mall but much, much bigger. More of a “neighbourhood” shopping mall and less upmarket than KLCC. Love the clothes from the individual shops.

g) A Cut Above – an upmarket hair salon in Mid Valley Megamall where I had my hair cut in the expert hands of Mr Davis Lee. I simply have to get my hair cut there again….

h) J’s two cousins for showing me KL’s night life – we went to Asian Heritage Row at Jalan Doraisamy. It was hilarious watching the female singer, gyrating to every song!

Well, that concludes my KL experience. And I so want to go back there again some time soon. This time with hubby in tow, I hope…. Anyone want to go with us? Let me know!!
